Coheed and Cambria Phone Pouch

A friend of mine asked me to sew a protection for his phone. Long time ago I found this tutorial and ever wanted to try it out. It is easy to follow, go try it yourself!

He loves the band Coheed and Cambria, so I printed the logo on the fabric.
Between the inside and outside I used two layers of cotton batting.

Wedding gift

We were invited to a wedding that took place last weekend in Potsdam near Berlin.

The couple liked to be gifted money, so I searched around Pinterest for money gift ideas and found this: Flying butterflies
To fold the butterflies I used this tutorial: DIY Dollar Bill Butterfly and 5€ notes.

The box was painted with violet acrylic paint and on the inside I put gift wrapping paper from IKEA.

At the bottom you see the zentangle heart I drew and glued to a card with the best wishes on the back.

Are you wearing shorts on your head? Then it is "Schlüppisamstag"!

You don't know Schlüppisamstag? Then you don't watch hc_dizee streaming the latest games on twitch! It will be celebrated the third saturday every month.
I love to watch and listen to the gamers of bay pirates streaming cool games. It is so much fun and a really great and friendly community there.

Beards on my hot water bottle?

Yes! Because I sewed this for my Dad. And my Dad has a beard.

Because: If your Dad doesn't have a beard, then you have two moms! :D

Thanks to reaver_phoenix for showing me this :D
As I saw the fabric in an online store, I had to buy it but didn't know what to sew.
Then Christmas came and there was the idea.
The pattern I used is the same as for my cover last time.

Hot Water Bottle Cover II

Best fabric ever <3

Doctor Who pillow cover

My best friend is a big Doctor Who lover and so it is easy for me to find something to sew as a present.
So did I find a Paper Foundation Piecing pattern at craftsy and it is for free *whoot whoot*

For the pillow cover I had all I needed at home. This is how I  like to do things.

I am very sorry, that there is no pic with the inlet.

It is much loved, how it is supposed to be <3

Birthday quilt for my godmother - basic math quilt

For my godmothers birthday last year I made her a quilt.
I had a super cute layer cake of sew stitchy by aneela honey. Really a great theme, because my godmother is also a sewist :)

The pattern I used was the Basic Math Quilt by moda.

The top went together fast and easy, recommended especially for beginners.

Basic Math Quilt

I used a thick poly batting and a quite large quilting to have it super cuddly.

Basic Math Quilt

The backing fabric is matching with the front but not too much theme itself.

Basic Math Quilt

Quilted with the old Anker machine because my brother was serviced in those days.

Basic Math Quilt

Worked out really well and the quilt is so soft.

The label is printed by myself, personalized for her :)

Happy quilting!

Chinese for beginners - or as I took the pictures as guide for the new phone holder

Last week, my final week of the holiday, my sewing mojo came back after the christmas presents sewing frenzy. I will blog about these later.

We bought new phones and they didn't fit all the holders I knit/crochet/sew until today.
So I had to sew a new one and this should also be a geeky one.

I know, I already used the pattern for the pillow cover, but I really love it and had some more orange leftovers from the pillow.

Searching on pinterest (my to sew list is even more longer ;) ) brought me to this rough pattern: Chinese smartphone holder

I measured my phone, converted it to inches, and sew.

Nananananananana Batman :D

Mr. Freeman would be proud of the covered button ;)

I used two layers of eco quilt batting inside, so the phone is really good protected.

Crowbars FTW!

4 Step Flagstone Quilt - FQ-Version

As I heared, that an aunt of mine is really serious sick, I had to sew a quilt for her. I really hope, it gives her comfort in these hard times.

I subscribed for the cotton + steel monthly fabric club and so I had enough fabric at home to sew one.

If you have a bunch of FQs, first address to head to is the moda bake shop.
This is where I found this really great pattern: 4-step flagstone quilt

So I picked a few from the stash and sorted them for the quilt.

This went together really fast as is quilted with my favorite pattern.

For the backing I chose a fabric from my LQS. More this 'n' that by Nancy Halvorsen Bernatex, LLC

The batting is the eco quilt batting from Freudenberg

For the binding I used the backing fabric for the first time and it worked out really well.

As she received it, she called me and was so happy :)

All the best wishes for her!
